Neptune’s

Role

Visualized and composed several website layouts for a restaurant in Alameda, CA.

Project Duration

July 2022

Overview

Neptune’s is a daytime spot for New American dishes with a Southern accent in a modern, welcoming setting. The owner reached out to me to redesign their website to show a more streamlined version of their digital menu, as well as showcase their food and delivery options. I used Figma to visualize the design of their website, keeping true to the Neptune’s branding. The final design of the website can be shown live here.

PROJECT TAKEAWAYS

Challenges

I was given a one to two week deadline to complete the project. This meant expediting the UX processes by looking at the user analytics given to me by the client first before looking online for any additional research. The main concern was ensuring that the navigation was seamless and simple, and at first I struggled with making sure I did not overdue the visual components.

Going Forward

I was happy with the outcome of the designs, as well as what the client ultimately ended up creating on their end based on my designs. Initially, I tried to dictate a lot of the design direction, but I realized during the process that if I went too far with my designing, then the client’s vision would not have been translated well. This experience gave me better insight into how to work with clients outside of the design circle.
