Overview

I led a comprehensive redesign of the website's navigation and platform, optimizing the menu structure, adding new pages, and enhancing image prominence to create an intuitive user experience across both mobile and desktop. The design prioritized accessibility and engagement for diverse audiences and met the tight deadline of August to align with the site’s feature in The New York Times.

Takeaways

CHALLENGES AND LESSONS LEARNED

One of the primary challenges I faced during this project was optimizing load times for a highly image-intensive website. To address this, I utilized Photoshop to compress and edit images without compromising quality, ensuring the site performed efficiently across devices. Additionally, balancing client expectations with the tight deadline required careful time management and prioritization of tasks.

GOING FORWARD

This project reinforced the importance of effective client communication, particularly when working under time constraints. Drawing on lessons from past experiences, I streamlined the feedback process to stay aligned with client goals while delivering the project on time. I also gained valuable experience in managing technical challenges, such as image optimization, and honed my ability to adapt to complex project requirements quickly and effectively.
